Every product we create has something worth carrying — a story, a purpose, a pathway forward. And just as our bags carry what matters, we want the marginalized women of Ethiopia to carry themselves from where they are to the future they dream of.
YAZZ Leather operates primarily not for profit, but as a vehicle for empowerment. We provide opportunities and create jobs for vulnerable women, including those affected by HIV, extreme poverty, and societal stigma.
WE BELIEVE economic empowerment is the foundation for sustainable development. Rather than charity, our model offers a hand up — a chance for dignity, stability, and hope.
Our work traces its roots to communities on the outskirts of Addis Ababa, such as Korah — an area that grew around an 80-year-old leprosy hospital and a massive city dump.
Many still face the devastating burdens of leprosy, HIV, and extreme poverty. Generational cycles of hardship and stigma dominate the narrative. We are standing with these women and children to write a new one.
We see dignity restored, confidence growing, families stabilized, children educated, and hope ignited for the long haul.
